Benefits Realisation in the NHS Training Course - On Site Delivery - Elearning

PMIS has a variant of our Benefits Realisation training course tailored specifically developed for the NHS. The course deals with the subjects of benefits identification, planning and realisation of value to the stakeholder groups across the NHS, using a case study of a major NHS change programme (being the digitisation of Patient records) throughout the course.

It will show how to relate benefits planning to strategic planning in healthcare, and how to structure and present business cases around benefits of real value to key stakeholder groups.

The course will demonstrate very clearly:

• how to identify real benefits in healthcare, including service improvement programmes

• the relationship between benefits identification and planning and programme and project lifecycles and how and when benefits identification and planning must occur within change programmes

• how to develop business cases that demonstrate real benefits, not just target financial savings

• how to develop a consolidate benefits realisation plans into a live management process

and therefore how to increase the benefits from change programmes by an order of magnitude.

NHS Course Case Study: Digitisation of Patient Records

All exercises use a realistic but synthetic case study project based upon the capture of handling of patient information - this allows delegates to look at administrative and clinical benefits in the context of a service improvement / change programme - the course uses this case study for all the practical sessions and provides model answers of how the key elements (outcomes, benefits and objectives) should be articulated and structured, and demonstrates clearly when real benefits have been identified.

Alternatively, you can provide an example (or extract) from a current or proposed project as the basis of all working sessions (without attracting additional cost).

Course delivery format:

The course can be delivered on site, using this case study, or we can adopt any change programme / project that you are currently involved in as the basis of all practical sessions, without involving any additional costs.

Delivery on site to groups of up to 10 people is an extremely effective way of training your staff in the skills of benefits realisation, while at the same time making real progress with the task of benefits planning and management on a real programme in your organisation.
