Project Management Portal

A Project Management Portal provides access to an organisation's Project Management knowledge base via an Intranet Portal. It is available to anyone with Intranet access and a web browser - a well designed portal requires little training or instruction to use and is a great asset to the organisation. It is an advanced form of CbT for 'how to manage projects in your organisation'

The purpose of a portal is to 'breath life' into the organisation's PM process. It uses Intranet pages to combines information on the Project Management process or training programme to demonstrate fundamental Project Management principles and best practices which are key to making the Project Management process work.

A well designed Project Management portal is the equivalent of: instant access to an on-line, interactive Project Management process manual combined with relevant Project Management education and training material, as well as automatic provision of template documents and accompanying guidance where appropriate.
